Town Marshal

Cody Cain

Marshal Cody Cain began his law enforcement career in 2005. While working at the Franklin Parish Sheriff’s Office he graduated in the top of his 101st North Delta Regional Training Academy class. In the early years of Cody’s career, he attended ULM where he majored in criminal justice. From his beginnings in Franklin Parish, he went on to serve at the Caldwell Parish Sheriff’s Office, Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office, and the Jena Police Department. While working at these different agencies Cody gained experience as a jailer, dispatcher, patrolman, police academy instructor, undercover narcotics officer, investigator, and supervisor.

Cody lives in downtown with beautiful wife, Victoria. They share seven children, Bricelyn, Alyssa Kay, Blaze, Bryer, Jaycee, Axel, and Dallas. He owns and operates a landscape and irrigation company and is an active member of the community. Cody and Victoria created a Facebook page, Columbia Town Watch, dedicated to increasing neighborhood awareness to help reduce potential crimes.

Cody’s strong desire to increase public safety through community policing led him to run for office. He saw a need in his community and ran for office to be the change he wished to see. First term goals are to establish an organized neighborhood watch program, implement bicycle patrols, start a reading program with elementary children, begin rigorous traffic safety enforcement, and modernize the Police Department. These initial goals will help keep our property safe but most importantly keep our streets safe for residents to travel and recreate.
